Helping Reignite the American Engine of Freedom is Not President Obama’s Goal:
No, that would be simple. Lowering taxes has always sparked the economy from Kennedy to Reagan to Bush, lowering taxes on businesses and investments has always grown the economy. If Obama and the Democrats really wanted to get the Engine of Freedom humming again they would start by lowering taxes on industry, business, housing, investment and the services industry.
No Obama’s plan is not for economic recovery and prosperity for Americans,
Obama’s plan is to attain longer lasting and greater power while he can.
He is setting up his hold on America and his ability to stay in power for years. If this stimulus package becomes law Obama and the left will have increased their hold on the wealth of the country, thereby being able to funnel even more billions into their next campaigns. Giving money to groups like ACORN and lefty projects such as the Greening of the Federal government will only increase Obama’s power base. It will not be surprising when 2012 comes around that his fringe group supporters will have raised incredible amounts of money so quickly.
Obama will also benefit from this massive shift of wealth to the left because the economy will stay stagnant longer increasing the fears of the public. These increased fears will lead the duped into even greater acceptance of the creeping socialism that is America’s “New” direction.
And never forget that when the Federal Government takes over your health care, your freedom of choice disappears and you become more indentured to the Federal Government.
Yes, Obama will gain more power when this boondogle power grab Simulouse bomb goes off!
Please read the following:
“Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased – not a reduced – flow of revenues to the federal government.”
– John F. Kennedy, Jan. 17, 1963, annual budget message to the Congress, fiscal year 1964 (WorldNetDaily)
“Between 1962 and 1969, investment grew at an annual rate of 6.1 percent, far higher than the 3 percent annual rate for 1959-1962 and the 2.3 percent rate for 1969-1972, after the JFK tax reforms had been repealed.” (NCPA)
“Real median family income grew by $4,000 during the Reagan period after experiencing no growth in the pre-Reagan years; it experienced a loss of almost $1,500 in the post-Reagan years.” (NCPA)
“President Bush’s 2003 tax cuts lowered the rate to 35 percent and created the economic growth that has increased tax revenues each year — by 5.5 percent in 2004 and 14.5 percent–the largest in 25 years — in 2005.” (NCPA)

Senate switchboard: All circuits are busy

From both Capitol Hill staff reports and reader e-mails, the phones have been melting down in Washington — and not from Americans who are enthralled with the idea of stealing $1 trillion from future generations for a Crap Sandwich Supreme. If you can’t get through the first time, try, try again.

“It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now … Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.”

By JOHN CAMPBELL, R-Irvine, represents the 48th Congressional District
Last September, we cautiously backed away from the precipice of financial collapse, but we are still a long way from getting our economy growing, flourishing, and functioning properly. Now, more than ever, we need innovative economic policies, not the political gamesmanship already playing out across all areas of government.
Republicans, Democrats, members of Congress, senators and the president all agree that America needs help, but that is where the agreement ends. The $825 billion stimulus package, which Congress was scheduled to vote on today, is, for lack of a better phrase, perfectly awful.
This package fails to meet all three criteria for successfully stimulating the economy; in fact, this bill contains 152 specific and separate appropriations. In reality, this is not a “stimulus” package at all. It is nothing more than another bloated spending bill.
The three criteria for an effective stimulus bill are:
Obama and the democrats are power hungry and will do or say anything to get it. Thats why they want more illegals..cause they mean more votes for the left! I still think it was funny that the melt down came just when McCain was getting ahead of Obama in the campaign. We seem to be doing fine until the democrats took over congress and from that time on the bottom started falling out!

It’s so funny how the Dems keep pointing to JFK as a God like figure and keep referring to him as one of the greatest President’s ever.
If JFK were alive today and dared to suggest tax cuts to help the economy, he would be villified by the left and would be the subject of daily ridicule by the NY Slimes and the Wash Compost.
Not to mention, if he was alive today and had another “Bay of Pigs”, standing up to the Commies, Vietnam, etc, he would be villified by the left for being a “war monger” and wanting to start World War III. The clown who posts here known as “stophate” would be screaming for war crimes trials for JFK and LBJ.
It shows how brainless a lot of these libs are. The next time one of them says JFK was such a great President, ask him what he did that made him such a great President, other than having a (D) in front of his name. They will first mention standing up to the Russians in Cuba as a great thing. Then ask them why Reagan was attacked for standing up to the Russians also?
After that they have nothing. Today Nancy Peolsi and Harry Reid would throw JFK under the bus for his policies.

Thanks for your comment RightWinger,
I wrote a post back in April featuring a debate between Obama and JFK.
It sounded like a good idea to repost it.
