Obama’s Hope, Change and Corruption coming to the White House in 7 days:

I hate to pile on the new guy in the White House, but don’t these moral and ethical issues usual come up after a few years in the White House not in the days before the inauguration?

I don’t know about you, but I would like to give the guy time to prove himself and show us that he really can change Washington and give us hope that our leaders will be held accountable to a higher standard. We should expect our leaders to be our top citizens. We should expect our leaders to go above and beyond the everyday normal standards. We should at least expect the newest leader of the free world to hold his nominees to a high standard morally ethically and professionally. I guess in “these times” of lowered expectations, dumbing down of standards, moral relativism we are supposed to just accept what should be unacceptable.

Here are a few Proverbs on the subject, I invite you to add your favorite Proverb in the comments section below:

“Without wise leadership, a nation falls;

There is safety in having many advisers” (Proverbs 12:14)

“A ruler with no understanding will oppress his people,

but one who hates corruption will have a long life” (Proverbs 28: 16)

“People with integrity walk safely,

but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall” (Proverbs 10 :9)

“Remove the wicked from the king’s court, and

his reign will be made secure by justice” (Proverbs 25: 5)

Just to be clear, I want to hold out hope that President Obama will do the right thing and purge himself and the White House of the corrupt and the corruptible. I hold out hope that Obama will rise above party politics, ideological demagoguery, and cronyism and replace these “crooked” politicians before he enters the White House. Let’s see if we can have true change in American politics. I promise I will praise Obama’s actions if he cleans house before moving into the White House.

Here is a quick run down of just a handful of President-Elect Obama’s nominees and advisers. You can follow the links for a deeper understanding of the character of the people Obama has surrounded himself with in the past and who he will surround himself with in the future.

AP: Clinton acted on concerns of husband’s donors

WASHINGTON – Secretary of State nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton intervened at least six times in government issues directly affecting companies and others that later contributed to her husband’s foundation, an Associated Press review of her official correspondence found.

The overlap of names on former President Bill Clinton’s foundation donor list and business interests whose issues she championed raise new questions about potential ethics conflicts between her official actions and her husband’s fundraising. The AP obtained three of the senator’s government letters under the Freedom of Information Act.

Pssst…did you take care of that problem yet?

They were just honest mistakes, really.

And I’m sure the Obama IRS would be as charitable with you or me as Team Obama is being with Timothy Geithner if we used the same explanation for failing to pay self-employment taxes:

Adios! Bill Richardson drops out as Commerce Secretary

Looks like the chickens of Bill Richardson’s pay-to-play scandal have come home to roost. Let it be the first of many ethics-tainted Obama nominations to go down in flames. Adios, Bill.

Why not? He named a Clinton crony with no foreign-policy experience to be Secretary of State, didn’t he?

Ace wonders if this is about having a dependable yes man at the top. Not really. It’s about having a guy at the top who’s untainted by “torture.” So untainted, in fact, that he’s also untainted by any intel experience whatsoever.

Illinois lawmakers water down ethics reform law

By Michelle Malkin • January 13, 2009 11:12 AM

Illinois lawmakers would rather ensure that they get a piece of the stimulus pie than ensure that another Blago scandal doesn’t humiliate their state again.

Blago is laughing his helmet head off:

House lawmakers today begrudgingly voted to knock a hole in the new pay-to-play ethics law aimed at curbing Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s prolific fund-raising because Washington officials threatened to block federal dollars for roads and bridges.
