Israelis release the hounds; they know they have only 16 days left-Updated!

Somehow this post got a lot of attention over the last 2 days; Over 2,000 hits in a few hours and number 43 on WordPress Top Posts! There must be a lot of interest in Israel and what President Obama will do when he takes office.

Thank you all for stopping by.

MIDEAST ISRAEL PALESTINIANS(Picture From Hot Air)

In 16 days weakness or at the very least confusion will enter the White House; the Israelis know this.

It is quite possible that Israel pulled the trigger now because they are not sure how much, if any, support they will get with President Obama. It does make me wonder however why they waited this long. Right now they are moving in to end the Hamas siege on Gaza. It makes one wonder what would have happened if Israel would have made their move a year ago. I can only think that they didn’t want to affect America’s presidential election. (riggword)

Israel is finally getting serious about fighting its war for survival:

Another one bites the dust in Gaza

A second major Hamas leader is dead.

Good riddance.

Latest development in Gaza: Israel has reportedly dropped leaflets warning residents to evacuate ahead of a possible ground invasion.

It seems that some Palestinians want to bring the War to America:

“I’m a little spooked”: Palestinian protests bring Gaza fighting to San Francisco

For nearly every day of the last week, San Francisco has seen street protests about the fighting in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. Hundreds of Palestinians, as well as left-wing activists organized by ANSWER, have marched and chanted in and around downtown San Francisco starting on December 30, and continuing (with a break on New Year’s Day) every day since, with no end in sight.

I have been unable to attend and document these protests in person, but KTVU Channel 2 filmed the protest on January 2, 2009 and made some of the raw video available on its site. Because the KTVU video page does not display or load properly on many computers, I have downloaded the raw video and, after editing out a section at the beginning where not much happens, uploaded it to YouTube so more people can get a flavor of what these protests are like.

Just a headline so far and no one else is reporting it, but they’ve been shelling northern Gaza since this morning to prepare the way so it’s not unexpected.

Now the JPost is reporting it too. Stand by for updates.

Update: From the JPost, big dividends from good intel:

Jew-hatred in San Francisco

Israel invades Gaza; Update: “A lengthy operation”

Update: A few careless statements from Israeli pols give the NYT all the reason it needs to up the ante further and ask whether anything short of destroying Hamas will do.

Vice Premier Haim Ramon went even further Friday night in an interview on Israeli television, saying Israel must not end this operation with Hamas in charge of Gaza.

“What I think we need to do is to reach a situation in which we do not allow Hamas to govern,” Mr. Ramon said on Channel One. “That is the most important thing.”…

“If the war ends in a draw, as expected, and Israel refrains from reoccupying Gaza, Hamas will gain diplomatic recognition,” wrote Aluf Benn, a political analyst, in the newspaper Haaretz on Friday. “No matter what you call it,” he added, “Hamas will obtain legitimacy.”…

[E]ven if Israel intends to hold back from completely overthrowing Hamas, its choice of assault tactics could head that way anyway. And the Israelis may already be facing a kind of mission creep: after all, if enough of Hamas’s infrastructure is destroyed, the prospect of governing Gaza, a densely populated, refugee-filled area whose weak economy has been devastated by the Israeli-led boycott, will be exceedingly difficult. 1. Go IDF!! Clean house baby! Am Yisroel Chai!

  2. Even though I do not normally believe in any kind of violence I am happy that Israel is taking action. I only hope they finish the business this time.

    JJ,
Thanks for your comment. I guess anything is possible when it comes to war and romance.
There are several thoughts from political pundits around the U.S. Yours is as valid as any.

  5. Welcome divingnut,

It’s been a while. How is Marion doing?

I miss you all as well. I have just been trying to retake my life after the spending so much time blogging before the election. I felt driven to keep Obama out of the most powerful position in the world.

I had to kick back a while and rest from the hub bub.

Are you still following Savage Politics and posting? I travel over there on occasion, but my time is precious and commenting on Savage usually leads me into several dialogs with others which takes time.

Anthony had a few choice words on my blog about gay marriage; I think he got a little miffed at my responses.

Remember reactions to my Hillary remarks? I think I have been proven out with her move into the Secretary of State position.

Anyway I am here, posting almost everyday, come by and visit often. I may jump over to savage soon and get an update.

Hope to hear from you soon, We Blues have to stick together.

    God Bless,
