Obama and the Economy; The Perfect Storm

Peoples’ fears stoked by a stuttering economy give Obama more fuel for change:

The Hate Bush campaign, the Out of Iraq mantra, and now the slagging economy have all led to a perfect storm for President-elect Obama. Barack Obama will be able to run his plans and schemes through congress and over the American people.

Now Obama is free to implement his works plans and rebuilding of our poor distraught country,

From Business Week:

Obama outlines rebuilding plans to create jobs,

President-elect Barack Obama on Saturday outlined his plan to create 2.5 million jobs in coming years to rebuild roads and bridges and modernize schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars.

“These aren’t just steps to pull ourselves out of this immediate crisis; these are the long-term investments in our economic future that have been ignored for far too long,” Obama said in the weekly Democratic radio address. The economic recovery plan being developed by his staff aims to create 2.5 million jobs by January 2011, and he wants to get it through Congress quickly and sign it soon after taking office. I have some questions for after the election:

Why aren’t we investigating the Oil Executives now that they conspired to lower gas prices?

Guy who predicted the financial meltdown: Obama’s only making it worse

posted at 6:43 pm on November 24, 2008 by Allahpundit

It’s Peter Schiff, Cassandra of the collapse, sounding off on Bloomberg TV over the weekend. He also predicts a bear market for another five to 10 years, with lows for the Dow somewhere between 4,000 and 6,000 but actually much worse in real dollars as the U.S. is crushed by hyperinflation. The only solution? Bring on the apocalypse and let’s muddle through.

If anyone needs me, I’ll be out back killing myself.

And Now President Bush is helping Obama out!

Michelle Malkin:

Bush vows to continue pre-socializing the economy for Obama

By Michelle Malkin • November 24, 2008 11:29 AM

Not content with the failed legacy of the Bush-Kennedy No Child Left Behind Act, the massive Medicare prescription drug coverage expansion, and the past year’s worth of mortgage “rescue” debacles engineered by his Naked Emperor Treasury Secretary, the lame duck GOP Spreader-of-Wealth-in-chief defends Citibailout — and threatens us with even more behemoth bailouts before he relinquishes office.

What is left for us to do but watch as we are rolled over by the left,

Or we can have fun making fun of them,

Signs of the times: Coming to an Obama school near you

You heard about that school that has already renamed itself after The One, right?

Doug Powers has mocked up campus billboard signs for the brainwash factory. Won’t be long before these crop up in your neighborhood (head over to his site for more)…

Heh. You can have (More Malkin)

  1. Yet, the events are unfolding in such quick and stunning succession that it’s hard to grasp their meaning or put them into proper perspective. Is the economic panic fueling more panic? Or are we just waking up to the reality that the real WMD were right under our noses in the subprime mortgages and the derivatives. Let’s ponder that shall we at “Another Day, Another Bailout” at http://www.justmypointofview.wordpress.com?

  2. Thanks Sheryl,

We are all pondering these mammoth events.

It seems a little surreal at times.
I’ll have to visit your site and ponder with you.

  3. Hi riggword,

I came across your blog through Michelle Malkin’s and I’ve really enjoyed the read. This post, in particular, has got my interest. As a college student, there’s nothing more I think about than my future and being in one of the most liberal universities in the world (UC Berkeley), it’s been hard to really focus on what’s important. Too many strong and often wrong opinions in my neck of the woods to be of any help. One thing I have found solace in is that fact that it’s not all up to me. Thank the Lord that he continues to watch over us and keep us close to Him.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

    Habakkuk 3:17-18

Thanks for the great read and Happy Thanksgiving. I will definitely stop by every so often. Let’s continue to pray for those who know not the peace and love that comes from know Christ and for the brothers and sisters that suffer in the name of our Lord. God Bless.

    -Josh

  4. Thanks for your comments Josh,

I have been away from the computer during the Thanksgiving break.

Life is a gift from God.
Salvation is a Gift from God.
We are to be about praising Him to
    Glorify His name.

As a college student you will have many opportunities to Glorify God. You will have many opportunities to witness and minister to those students who are lost and who blindly follow the liberal religion of the leftist professors. Be ready to give a reason for your hope and be ready to share your faith.

I would suggest that you not battle with the professors at first. Choose your battles wisely and always be preparing to win souls to Christ as you meet new students and build relationships. God will open the door to those relationships.

Pray for divine appointments. We need to change the hearts and minds of Americans one at a time, then God can be the the center of American life once again.

    God Bless,
    riggword.

  5. Obama’s economic plan proves that he is in over his head. This is why he is reconstructing the Clinton White House—he has no clue what he is doing.
