For the Glory of God

Changing hearts, minds and souls for the Glory of God Is my purpose:

Although I tend to get about a third as many readers when I blog directly about God instead indirectly about God through my political blogs, I believe It is important to remind myself and others of my true purpose for writing riggword weblog. Since Sunday has become to be known as the Lord’s Day I like to post a more obvious Biblical reflection on Sundays. Now you must understand that I believe that every day is the Lord’s day; “For this is the Day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”. But I have to admit that Sunday is still a special day for many Christian Americans; I am not talking about NFL football, although it does seem to be one of America’s new religions. IF you do happen to watch the NFL on Sunday please do it “For the Glory of God”.

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,

do all to the glory of God.”

(I Corinthians 10:31)

Changing the hearts and minds of Americans starts with having God’s purpose in mind.

During this election year I blogged daily trying to change the minds and hearts of the American voters. It seems clear to me that God’s purpose would have been better served if Obama would not have won, due mostly to his willingness and what seems at times eagerness to increase the number of abortions in the world (Catholic Response).

From CNN:

“Other controversial Bush measures Obama is expected to overturn are related to abortion and family planning.

U.S. State Department officials and family planning groups such as Planned Parenthood said they expect Obama to overturn the “Mexico City” policy, first instituted by the Reagan administration. The policy prevents taxpayer dollars from funding groups that perform or promote abortions overseas.” (CNN)

There are many other issues that I have expounded upon for opposing President-elect Obama’s rise to power. One in particular is the types of judges that will be forced upon us during his reign. Even though Obama tends to ride the fence on Gay marriage in America, the types of judges he will place on the Supreme Court and lower courts will be liberal through and through make no mistake about it. These new judges will try and force Gay marriage upon Americans. As Christians we must live our lives so that others will change theirs,

“We will set up success in Christian work as the aim; the aim is to manifest the glory of God in human life, to live the life hid with Christ in God in human conditions. Our human relationships are the actual conditions in which the ideal life of God is to be exhibited.” (Oswald Chambers)

The battle for the heats and minds of Americans will continue until the Lord Returns!

That is of course as long as there is an America to battle for.

As Christians we must stay diligent in our daily lives to live “For the Glory of God”. We must demonstrate to our co-workers, our families, our friends that we have a different way of living, that we stand apart from the crowd, that we live our daily lives “For the Glory of God!” If we are diligent and we grow relationships while always standing firm on our commitment to God we can make a tremendous impact on changing the hearts, minds and souls of Americans “For the Glory of God…That they may be saved.”

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God,

just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit,

but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

(I Corinthians 10:31-33)

Their’s is not the same god!

I shall pray to my God for Shamsia.

Oswald Chambers, From My Utmost for His Highest,

STILL HUMAN!

“Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

The great marvel of the Incarnation slips into ordinary childhood’s life; the great marvel of the Transfiguration vanishes in the devil-possessed valley; the glory of the Resurrection descends into a breakfast on the sea-shore. This is not an anti-climax, but a great revelation of God.

The tendency is to look for the marvellous in our experience; we mistake the sense of the heroic for being heroes. It is one thing to go through a crisis grandly, but another thing to go through every day glorifying God when there is no witness, no limelight, no one paying the remotest attention to us. If we do not want mediaeval haloes, we want something that will make people say – What a wonderful man of prayer he is! What a pious devoted woman she is! If you are rightly devoted to the Lord Jesus, you have reached the sublime height where no one ever thinks of noticing you, all that is noticed is that the power of God comes through you all the time.

Oh, I have had a wonderful call from God! It takes Almighty God Incarnate in us to do the meanest duty to the glory of God. It takes God’s Spirit in us to make us so absolutely humanly His that we are utterly unnoticeable. The test of the life of a saint is not success, but faithfulness in human life as it actually is. We will set up success in Christian work as the aim; the aim is to manifest the glory of God in human life, to live the life hid with Christ in God in human conditions. Our human relationships are the actual conditions in which the ideal life of God is to be exhibited. (Chambers)

Keep fighting the good fight!

God Bless you all,

riggword.

Anti-Prop. 8 protest watch

By Michelle Malkin • November 15, 2008 11:31 AM

The opponents of Proposition 8, the traditional marriage initiative that passed 52-48 in California, are holding a nationwide protest today. Will they control themselves? Or will we see more blacklisting, harassment, and intimidation?

Prop. 8 supporters want to know — as I’ve wondered – where the soul-fixers and healers are: (Read This!)

More From Malkin:

Who will quell the anti-Prop. 8 rage?

By Michelle Malkin • November 13, 2008 02:28 PM

Pssst. Hey, “Lightworker.” Yeah, you, “Mr. Soul-fixer.” Bearer of “Hope and Change.”

Across the country, there are broken souls in need of fixing. They are the opponents of Proposition 8, California’s traditional marriage initiative, which passed 52-48 (the same margin you won by, Lightworker).

Perhaps you would care to weigh in and work your healing magic on the anti-Prop. 8 rabble-rousers who continue to wreak havoc on Mormon churches in several cities and states and blacklisting peaceful voters who supported the ballot measure.

It is getting very ugly out there and no one in the Democratic leadership has stepped up to condemn the insane rage, to borrow a phrase.

Where art thou, Lightworker? (Malkin)

Will the Real Obama Please Stand Up!

Going backwards on indefinite detention, too?

posted at 1:34 pm on November 15, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

Earlier today, I noted that Barack Obama’s team has started hinting that they will move back towards John McCain’s position on interrogation techniqiues. Now supporters of Obama who have criticized the Bush administration’s position on indefinite detention have begun rethinking that policy as well:

Anther Obama Hypocrite move!

Lobbyists in key positions in Team Obama transition team

posted at 11:45 am on November 15, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

To put the old song on its ear, everything new is old again. Remember when Barack Obama said this?

To rousing applause, Barack Obama formally announced this afternoon that the Democratic National Committee will follow his lead and begin refusing donations from registered lobbyists and special-interest political action committees.

“They do not fund my campaign,” the presumptive Democratic nominee told a small-town southwest Virginia crowd, after delivering a standard refrain that blames drug and insurance interests for blocking universal health care. “They will not fund our party. And they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I’m President of the United States.”

They may not have funded his campaign, although that’s highly questionable, but the Washington Post reports that they’ll be running his government. Obama has tapped a number of lobbyists for high-profile positions in the transition team, and most of them will likely end up with significant leadership roles in the coming Obama administration:

    Leatherby’s Boycott Melts–The Inside Scoop
Supporters line out the door in support of Family Ice Cream Parlor, delivering a humiliating defeat to protesters

The inside scoop from the front lines on the Leatherby’s boycott is that Leatherby’s loyal supporters pommeled the opposition. Standing in front of the store holding signs and giving away free ice cream, the dozen or so protesters were perplexed by the stream of constant customers.
