Like a flock of Geese flying south so goes our country following Obama
But the good news about geese is that
they always return North in the Summer.
Once again I have to say that I am willing to give our country’s voters their time to prove that Obama is the right guy to lead us for the next four years. If he is successful, we all benefit.
But there is a bigger issue at hand for Americans. It is one thing to believe in a political philosophy and be dedicated to achieving political goals and change, but to give heart and soul to one man is inherently dangerous. America has given all her hope to one man and he is after all only human; but the higher you climb the farther the fall. Obama will lead America in a direction, many will follow the flock as far south as Obama will take them. My exhortation to the Obama flock is to fly with your eyes open, with caution; always keep a landing field in sight. Strong charismatic leaders who have unquestioning followers have a tendency to over turn the flight path.
The People got fat and grew lazy; we’ve bent our beaks!
Let’s face it Americans are spoiled. We do not understand how amazing this country is. We have been fortunate enough to live in the country that has the highest standard of living of any society in the history of the world. We have been sitting back in our lounge chairs for too long. We have become spoiled and now we expect our government to take care of us from cradle to grave. The American Dream has given way to complaining and envy; the new American Way. We have become like the lazy seagull who has a bent beak from picking up too many Macdonald’s French fries off of the sidewalk; now the lazy bird has ruined his ability to dig for sand crabs.
All that the lazy bird can do is take hand outs.
And when the handouts are slim
He Just takes what he wants!
Fortunately the geese always come back North.
American is an amazingly resilient nation. Like the flock of geese flying south that is constantly readjusting its flight plan, our American political system is constantly readjusting to find the true path. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing, at least God had his hand on theirs to direct the constitution. They wanted a process that would create a series of mini revolutions every four years. They knew that a free people would never survive with a life long King or monarcy. They knew that the best way to keep people engaged in self-governemnt was to leave an opening for change.
And Change will come, it is built into the system;
how far south and for how long we fly in that directon are the questions.
Someday the geese will fly back to true north again.
There is nothing new about the constant polar swings of humans’ nature.
“That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.”
(Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Jesus Christ is our True North, we must stay on course!
“Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you,
because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining”
(I john 2:8)
“That was the true Light
which gives light to every man coming into the world”
(John 1:9)

This is not the change you seek

While some Democrats celebrate what they see as a game-changing election, others have decided to start scaling back expectations already. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid both said yesterday that they had learned from previous failures of both parties in overreaching and antagonizing the middle of the electorate. For those who voted “change”, this may sound a sour note through the revelry over Barack Obama’s victory:
More thoughts on the election
I call it a flock of Seagulls, Southern Appeals calls it the political bell curve:
The Bell Curve Theory of American Politics
Back when I was a student of political science, we spent a lot of time discussing the bell curve theory of American politics. The idea was simple. Americans are supposedly arrayed along an ideological spectrum. The vast majority of voters are in the center, while small numbers lurk out at the edges. So, the theory goes, the winning party will be the one that finds a candidate to plausibly occupy the center position.
I think that theory is out the window.
There is no way rational voters could have looked at the choice offered by John McCain and Barack Obama and concluded that Barack was closer to the ideological center than McCain. Obama had no record of cooperation with Republicans. McCain has passed major legislative packages with Democrats. Obama has never broken with his party other than to go left of his party. McCain has regularly broken with his party to move in with centrist coalitions. (read the rest here)

We kinda thought this stuff was going on!
Data mining for the DNC, but not for national security

Can the Democrats’ “Do As I Say, Not As I Do” file get any bigger? Thanks to Jeff Poor at the Business and Media Institute, we now know that the Democratic National Committee is employing the very data mining techniques to build its party base that Democrat leaders have assailed when used by the Bush administration to prevent terrorist attacks.

Words of wisdom as relevant today as they were in 1975.

America transformed: Waving the hammer and sickle
When I saw this last night and again this morning, I was sure it was a joke. I was sure Obama supporters had been punked.
I’m not so sure anymore.
Here’s the photo: (watch this here)
There is no need for this!
The McCain campaign’s classless cowards

Photoshop: David Lunde
The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.”
At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.
Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.
“My exhortation to the Obama flock is to fly with your eyes open, with caution; always keep a landing field in site.”
It’s gonna be hard to convince them to keep their eyes open when they are closed, imagining Obama to be whatever it is they want him to be for them.
So anyhow, in our new Wacky America, today I saw a van parked alongside the road selling Obama paraphenalia out of the back (Obama face shirts, Obama face banners).
We seem to now have a cult of personality around the new President of the United States. And he can say or do anything and his devoted discliples will do whatever he says or wants with their eyes tightly shut. And he Constitution be damned.
God help America.

Hey there zyle,
Yep, you have a good point there.
It is hard to know where you are going when you have your eyes shut.
Obama is a brand!
I posted a blog or two back in the BO days, that’s Before Obama, which warned of the Obama Brand taking America by storm.
Remember when he changed the tail of his plane and removed the American Flag?
Post: “Obama’s Plane, More Vanity”.
Post: “Obama Bumper Stickers, should we be worried?” I had several more, just don’t want to look them up right now. It will be interesting to look back on all our posts and comments in the coming years; maybe repost some and see how accurate our predictions were.
Yes, right now Americans are in the candy store with no adults to stop them. I say let them eat all they want until they have such a terrible stomach ache that they beg to go to the doctor.
America may change beyond recognition over the next few years and our military may be devastated. With God’s grace we may just make it through with our constitution intact and our military in only a mild state of shock.
As conservatives we need to let the first wave pass and do a sort of “Rope-a-Dope” while the feeding frenzy rushes by. Then after a time we can rise up behind the “Gobstopper Filled” children and take them back home for their medicine.
As Christians we have a calling to minister to those who need their stomachs pumped from an Obama overdose. I hope and pray that the Lord will heal our hearts and show us how to show grace to the sick when the time comes.
Thanks again kyle it is always encouraging to hear form you and other like-minded Christians. The results of this election clearly show that many “Christians” had to have voted for Obama. Makes you wonder how we ever got to such a perversion of God’s word in “Christian” America.
We must stick together, hunker down and pray for victory in the eternal battle. After all we know who wins in the end.
God Bless,

Thanks zyle,
I was just talking to my wife about the fact that lots of Christians had to vote for Obama otherwise there is no way he would have gotten 52%.
And in California where they passed the the Protect Marriage act with nearly 70 percent of black voters and a slight majority of Hispanic voters a majority of those voted for Obama; go figure. Sounds like they were voting for a personality not policy when they voted for Obama.
The result is more divided Christians.
The man that was supposed to bring us all together has a least divided Christians.
Good points,
God Bless,
riggword.
