This is the Day the LORD Has Made,

We will rejoice and be glad in it!

(Pslam 118:24)

I called on the LORD in distress;
The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place.
The LORD is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
The LORD is for me among those who help me;
Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD

Than to put confidence in princes.

(Pslam 118: 5-9)

AS Christians we have a God who comforts, heals, teaches and leads us in our daily lives. We need not be down or worried. Jesus is our light not the government. Today is also the day the LORD has made we shall go on and be glad in it!

King David faced a difficlut time when his son from Bathsheba was ill and on his death bead.

“And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill. David therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground. So the elders of his house arose and went to him, to raise him up from the ground. But he would not, nor did he eat food with them” (II Samuel 12:15-17).

We all worked hard to get the message out about Obama.

We tried to warn the people of the United States of America. Now the election is over and we can take some time to reflect. I for one am at peace. God has allowed the people of America to vote themselves a raise. The electorate has spoken. We can relax a little and realize that God’s will has been done. We can get back to work now. As Christians we can get back to the work of sharing the Good News of the Gospel. In the coming months many Americans will come to see the truth about this “unknown” President. They will need us to comfort and teach them about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As Christians we must remain diligent in doing God’s work. It is time to get up off of the floor and get back to work.

David’s son died; David went back to work.

When David saw that his servants were whispering, David perceived that the child was dead. Therefore David said to his servants,

“Is the child dead?” And they said, “He is dead.”

So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate. Then his servants said to him, “What is this that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive, but when the child died, you arose and ate food.”

And he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the LORD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’ But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” (II Samuel 12:19-23)

It is not time for us to weep, it is time for us to rejoice in the Lord.

The election is finished, we cannot bring about a new result; It is time for us to look ahead and be optimistic. Others will be watching us, at work, at home, at school. We must not become bitter like the Bush haters of the last eight years. We must stand strong and be gracious and forgiving for those around us who would gloat. This is the time to show what a Christian is all about. The Lord has laid the table for us, he has given us a great opportunity to show the worldly that we are different, that we do not blame, pout, attack, or degrade; we get back to work!

Our Reward is ahead of us, rejoice in the day that the Lord has Made.

For out of death came Solomon,

Then David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her. So she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. Now the LORD loved him, and He sent word by the hand of Nathan the prophet: So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.

(II Samuel 12: 24-25)

So get up Christians, Stand, and be ready for the long battle ahead.

We have today to begin to show how Christians live to

our co-workers, our families, our friends,

To America and To the world.

Today we rejoice, tomorrow we rejoice and fight the good fight again,

We must be ready to comfort those who become disillusioned over the coming years. We must be once again diligent in teaching others about our Lord. We must use our time to educate the people about the world and the secular direction our country is going. It will be a hard lesson for many. We must pray and have an answer ready to explain the hope that is in us.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world,

and loses his own soul?

Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

(Matthew 16:26)

AMEN!

Michelle Malkin gets back to work:

Lead Story

Gird your loins, conservatives

By Michelle Malkin • November 5, 2008 01:05 AM

There is no time to lick wounds, point fingers, and wallow in post-election mud.

I’m getting a lot of moan-y, sad-face “What do we do now, Michelle?” e-mails.

What do we do now? We do what we’ve always done.

We stand up for our principles, as we always have — through Democrat administrations and Republican administrations, in bear markets or bull markets, in peacetime and wartime.

We stay positive and focused.

We keep the faith. (Amen, More Malkin)

Hot Air adds:

Congratulations, Obama

posted at 11:37 pm on November 4, 2008 by Allahpundit

One of the last things Dean Barnett said to me was that, as best he could tell, Barack Obama is “a good guy and a decent man.” I don’t think he’d mind me telling you that, especially under the circumstances. It’s a testament to his generosity of spirit that even in the heat of a campaign, with every reason to think the worst of his opponent, Dean couldn’t help but give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s Barnett all over, and that’s what made him an indispensable man whom we’ve been forced, horrendously, to dispense with.

I offer that as comfort to those of you who have no faith in The One but who do have faith in, and abiding affection for, DB. My guess is he’d have handled the news tonight with the same magnanimity that distinguished all of his writing. So in that spirit, congratulations to Barry O on a race superbly run and to our country for not having let the wrong reasons deter it from making the wrong choice. I’ll never be a fan, but I swear I’ll never take a nutroots posture either in relishing his failures because it helps my party. Like it or not, he’s my president. As a great man once said, country first.

Election Updates

From Malkin:

Squeakers: Franken/Coleman, Rossi/Gregoire, Merkley/Smith, Stevens/Begich, Prop. 8, Colorado’s Amendment 46, Chambliss/Martin

By Michelle Malkin • November 5, 2008 03:30 AM

Some late-night election updates for you:

*The Minnesota Senate race pitting the nation’s unfunniest comedian against Norm Coleman is a dead heat at 42-42. There’s talk of a recount.

*In a reprise of 2004, the Washington state gubernatorial race is a squeaker. Democrat incumbent Christine Gregoire is holding a premature celebration; GOP challenger upstart Dino Rossi, who lost by 133 votes last time, is not conceding.

*California’s gay marriage ban, Prop. 8, is too close to call:

GOOD ADVICE!

From the Corner:

11) Unlike the Democrats, let’s show some class in defeat. That doesn’t mean lie down and roll over: it means fighting for what we believe in, doubly so now. But their sneering childishness is not for us; and now that they’ve won, they won’t be able to control it even in victory. This is an unlovely party filled with unlovely people, as America’s about to find out once the Obama pixie dust wears off. (read it Here)

One more thought from Hot Air:

That’s what elections are for

posted at 8:19 am on November 5, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

Congratulations go to Barack Obama for his victory last night.  He did what few Democrats have managed to do this century: win majorities in both popular vote and the Electoral College.  Bill Clinton couldn’t do that in either election, and he was one of the most gifted politicians of this era.

Having gone through more than a few presidential elections, I tend to be more philosophical about their outcomes.  Winning is never a complete blessing, and defeat is rarely a complete disaster.  As I told people last night, we survived Jimmy Carter, who got elected with a similar “change” wind at his back after Watergate and the Vietnam War. He also had large Congressional majorities, and the Fairness Doctrine had been firmly in place for decades.

I hope that Obama turns out to be a better President than Carter, not for Obama’s sake but for the country’s sake.  Christopher Buckley and other conservatives engaged in some wishful thinking by claiming that his victory would somehow lead him to become centrist rather than a liberal ideologue once in office.  Obama has always been pragmatic, as his campaign showed; it will be up to us to work to get that to happen. 1. Good post, Rigg. God chose Barack Obama to be our next president. Only time will give us a sense of why He did this, but we must submit to His will.

Now we get to look foreward to Obama’s test. When will the attack happen?

  2. Good Morning peak9,

Obama will be tested. Let’s pray that he does the right thing.

I am not looking forward to an attack. I am praying for America’s safety as well as the rest of the world.

My prayer and my hope is that Obama actually turns out to be better than I thought he would.

I am willing to eat a little crow, if it means America survives and prospers.

I do not plan to become like the Bush Haters.
At the same time we must hold our government accountable for its actions. So, keep blogging and praying.

We do live in interesting times.

    God Bless

  3. Great post, Rigg. I hope it was God that chose him but I’m not convinced. I pray it’s not too late for us when we finally realize what we did.

    God Bless America.

  4. Thank you for the article rigg.

America had a choice which could not have been clearer. And America its stand against God.

So now, obviously, the time has come for God’s punishment of America.

It does us no good to wail and be bitter at our spanking. If a mere spanking is what this election represents. Rather, it may be that we have been placed, as a nation, on an alter. And just as Isaac did not protest as his father lifted the knife, so we should be as lambs.

    God is just.

If the knife is meant to extinguish our existence, then so be it.

This world is not our home.
    America is not our homeland.
No nation on earth endures forever.

  5. I know that not everyone will agree with my belief in the sovereignty of God (the reality that God is in control of all the things that take place here on earth).

“Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?” Isaiah 40:12
“All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.” Isaiah 40:17.
“I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?” Isaiah 43:12&13.
“Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that
spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That frustrateth the tokens of the liars,
and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their
    knowledge foolish” Isaiah 44:24&25.
“I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” Isaiah 45:5 -7.

These verses are some of the reasons why I believe that God is in control of the affairs of all mankind.

Having said this I have to then add that I have no choice but to believe that the event that took place on the 4th was because of the judgment of God upon this nation, and perhaps on much of the world in general. Saying this does not mean that I am saying or even implying that God is about to destroy this nation. God did not destroy the Israelites with the Babylonian captivity, but He did bring about a great catastrophe upon them, but it was
    temporary.

My point in saying this is to encourage those who believe in the importance of prayer to strive to give even more concern for and time to this need we now have to cry out to God for His mercies and favor in the coming years.

“And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.” Exodus 2:23-25.

  6. Christianity has alwaya thrived under persecution.
Get ready boys and girls….it’s going to be an awful long four years.

    Painful too!

    Lord have mercy.

  7. timglass,

It’s been a while since we heard from you. You are so right it will be a long four years. I am not so sure that 4 years will be the end of it however. This election shows that the American people have tossed the American Dream, American exceptionalism, Capitalism and the Judeo-Christian ethic in the dumpster.

This Obama phenomenon is feverish, irrational, and obsessive. I am not sure the people will figure this out in 4 years. They will continue to blame President Bush for the first 4 years of Obama no matter how bad his presidency is. If you add in the Chicago machine, Bill ayers’ plans for America and George Soros’ money we may never get rid of Obama’s style of running America.

This could just be God’s plan to strengthen Christians and build his kingdom.

timglass it is a pleasure hearing from you as usual. It is encouraging to know that there are many like-minded God fearing people out there to go through our time of persecution.

    Keep in touch,
    God Bless,

Thank you so much for your comments. I hope you both will continue to visit my blog. We all need to stick together, be patient and wait on the Lord.

This may not be time for America to suffer, it may just be time for more souls to be saved.

    Zyle,
Thanks again for your always insightful comments. And thank you for

This world is not our home.
    America is not our homeland.
No nation on earth endures forever.

We are only sojourners here. Our true home is Heaven. On this planet we will always feel uncomfortable. This election has already sharpened my focus on Jesus and my relationship with Him.

God’s word will prevaile. I am thoroughly convinced that in the coming months and years there will be many opportunities to show the people who elected Obama God’s true love. We will be tested by this election to see if we can act as God would have us and not as the world
    expects.

I have already received many hateful, and profanity filled comments from people who support Obama. I have chosen not to post them so as not to continue the anger that was part of the campaign.

There will be time to question the new President’s actions in the future. We must always hold our elected officials accountable. I would have done the same if McCain would won.

Thank you all for your comments today,
I have a deep felt passion to write, this blog will continue prayerfully on a daily basis. Although my job, my education, my prayer and Bible study time, and my wife all need my attention.

    God Bless,

  9. As a Christian, I will struggle with supporting Obama. I will give him a chance to prove me wrong, to prove his background wrong.

The Bible tells us to submit to the governing authorities because they were established by God. What happens if Obama and the Democratic controlled Congress start passing laws that are outright attacks on God and those who believe this nation was founded under God? What do Christians do then? Do we revolt? Do we fight back? Do we submit to it? This is where I am at.

  10. Hello peak9

I am getting a lot of nasty Obama supporters’ comments who say we are poor losers. I guess 8 years of hate Bush isn’t poor losing.

They don’t understand that we serve a higher power than a president. We serve the God of the universe.

Yes, we are to support our President who is Barack Obama. This will be difficult when it comes to abortion and gay marriage. When the government comes into our Churches and demands that we hire gays and perform gay marriages then we will have a real rebellion.

It will be at times an individual decision on how we will respond. Some of us will choose to take a sort of underground tactical stealth approach. This is an approach I have been using while working in the public schools. Others will be moved to a more direct and resistant plan.

This new age will bring a new intensity for us. The good news is that we will be pulled closer to God.

Keep the chin up, the prayers up, and faith up.
    God Bless,
    riggword
