Either McCain is a political genius or he is a really lucky candidate:
McCain took a risk in adding Palin to the ticket. He has taken another risk by having her remain silent while his opponents take swipes at Sarah. Now his campaign has her coming out strong. Coincidence, I think not, a master plan…perhaps!
The ebb and flow of presidential elections is an amazing thing to watch. I have to admit that I do not understand how people have not made up their minds between these two obviously polar opposite choices. In my mind the differences are like choosing between vanilla ice cream and a vegemite sandwich. You either choose one and discard the other; the choice is clear and simple. But I guess there are still voters out there who sway back and forth depending on who looks and sounds the most appealing that week. This week it is the McCain ticket, thanks to Unsinkable Sarah, who appears the most appealing. Last week it was Obama who caught their attention due to the misunderstanding by most voters of this ridiculous financial “Crisis” and their uninformed perception that it is a republican problem. It is possible that the McCain campaign knows exactly what they are doing by holding Sarah back for a few weeks and now letting her “sting like bee”.

McCain Palin “Rope-a-Dope” just might be working:
Just like Muhammad Ali leaning on the ropes against George Foreman in 1974, the McCain campaign had Sarah Palin holding back while she took the blows from Obama, Biden, and the MSM. Now after they have exhausted all of their punches Palin has come back swinging strong to knock out Biden and bring the heavy weight belt back to the McCain Palin ticket. It might just be that the McCain camp knows exactly what it is doing in setting up the ebb and flow of this election so that the McCain Palin high tide is in place precisely on November 4th.
Hugh Hewitt has a theory that presidential elections flow back and forth in the last weeks.
Hewiit says that the election will swing three more times before that fateful Tuesday; list night marks the beginning of the first swing. Obama was up for a week or so while the media and Obama surrogates hammered away at Palin and the economy and McCain Palin rode the ropes. Now Sarah is off the ropes and attacking which is swaying the “undecided” voters back to McCain. Soon I would bet McCain will come out swinging on Obama’s connections with the Democrats who ran Fannie Mae and Bernie Mac. Then again a week or so from now Obama Biden will have a slight surge in the poles. Which will only help the McCain Palin pendulum swing even harder in the final week. McCain just may be a political genius and always two moves ahead of Obama. If so look for the tide to rise for McCain Palin just in time to win! (riggword)

SARAH ROCKS!

First, I would like to see all the Sarah doubters and detractors in the Beltway/Manhattan corridor eat their words.
Eat them.
Sarah Palin is the real deal. Five weeks on the campaign trail, thrust onto the national stage, she rocked tonight’s debate.
She was warm, fresh, funny, confident, energetic, personable, relentless, and on message. She roasted Obama’s flip-flops on the surge and tea-with-dictators declarations, dinged Biden’s bash-Bush rhetoric, challenged the blame-America defeatism of the Left, and exuded the sunny optimism that energized the base in the first place.
McCain has not done many things right. But Sarah Palin proved tonight that the VP risk he took was worth it.

PDS Alert: MSNBC dolt calls Palin a dolt for doing what Obama did

Photoshop: David Lunde
Yes, it’s that slavering Chris Matthews at it again. His leg was not tingling last night. His mouth, however, was itching to tear down Sarah Palin.
Her sin? Looking into the camera (via Newsbusters):
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 10:32 PM After the wave of assaults on her , Sarah Palin shows the nation why John McCain picked her and why the center-right loves her. She has a great night. Joe Biden does well too, but this was all about Sarah Palin, and she delivered a strong, strong message of energy and change.
The one great line of the debate: “It is so obvious that I am a Washington outsider,” Palin says, “someone just not used to the way you guys operate” as she points out Joe Biden’s attempt to doubletalk his way to Obama’s position.
Biden’s big gaffe came on Iran: “They are not close to getting a nuclear weapon that can be deployed.”
The Luntz focus group picked up the decisive Palin win, and Luntz is predicting a move towards McCain in the polls as a result. McCain will have to take on the issue of the origins of the subprime crisis to capitalize on this opening, and Sarah needs to be out on talk radio every day from here on out. She is back as the GOP’s best weapon in Election ‘08.
Joe Biden’s gaffes: Imagine if Sarah made them
Several observers noted Joe Biden’s oopsy on Article I and the vice presidency.
Here’s what he said:
Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history. The idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that’s the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.
Reader Jason: “Biden’s largest gaffe of the night: I heard Biden state that Article 1 of the Constitution grants the Vice President his/her role. It is Article 2 that provides the Executive branch their enumerated powers. Article 1 is for the legislature.”

A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.
While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.
Game face!
Biden gaffe: VP is always President of the Senate

If anyone would have guessed before the debate which candidate would make an error on a Constitutional question, odds would have heavily favored Sarah Palin. After all, Joe Biden has a license to practice law and has served in Congress more than half his life, while Palin has a degree in journalism and has never worked in Washington at all. And yet, Biden blew the one question on the Constitution — on the topic of the job he seeks: (more Hot Air)

Being one of the few families in the U.S. with out cable, I for one enjoyed listening to the debate on the raido. There were no visual distractions, and it was easier to hear the message of both cadidates.
As my 10 year old girl says, “Palin Rocks!!”

thanks for the thoughts timglass,
I agree with your daughter, Palin rocks.
That is why they hate her!
I am also cable free, satilite free, and most of the time TV free. I just feel free from all of the MSM brainwash.
The more I walk with the Lord, the less I feel comfortable with TV, Newspapers and most movies.

Rigg, that middle video of kids singing about Obama is Orwellian. This kind of indoctrination is dangerous. After these kids sing about Obama they probably sing a song about global warming.
Palin For President.

peak9,
You are so right, 1984 seems more possible than ever.
Check out today’s video of the teenagers singing to Obama.
I have heard so many of our youth who see Obama as more than just a politician trying to gain power.
He is a star to them, their logic is out the window.
Sorry about the running together; I can’t stop blogging…..
Thanks for your comment,

Once again You all should pray and that Is that God has his way. We are to allow him to work in whomever He choses and not spread hatred.

Obama is a decent man. He is not trying to spread hate.

hello again christian,
Once again in the American political scene it has never been consider “hatred” to resist passionately your opponent until this election.
Obama is the one who has made this election into a love – hate election. IF you like Obama you must “Love” him, if you disagree with Obama then you are seen as “Hating” him.
You say that we are to allow God to choose who He wants as president, so does that mean that you are not going to vote this year? If God is so sure that Obama is His man then why show up at all, you can’t even make a difference. I urge you to stay home on November 4th and let God do His work.
It puzzles me to hear “christians” embrace a man who is so far from supporting Godly issues.
Please read my next installment of “The riggword letters” later today.
God Bless,
