Obama, Lipstick, Pig, Palin; What up O’?

So, the great communicator, healer of all of our differences, the man who will tame Ahmedinejah lets loose with this derogatory sexist statement:

Is Obama above scrutiny? Are we suppose to turn the other ear?

Ok, so are we suppose to think that the great one, the excellent intelligent communicator just had a “Slip up” or perhaps he knew that we all know he is not a sexist so he can say this kind of thing. Or perhaps because you know he is part African American so we can’t judge anything he says. Is Obama full of the audacity of sexism and slurs and smears. What up O’? What up America? How come this guy gets away with so many innuendos and negative campaigning.

What healer, what communicator, what man for all people?

This guy says that he is a different kind of politician, that we need to be less divisive, that he can talk to our enemies and get them to see our side. He can’t even talk to the people of America without being divisive and insulting. What up O? What up America?

Please Obama Supporters don’t even try to make him into a saint with this one.

You will only make yourself and him look even stupider!

Now Obama Supporters are calling foul,

Obama can dish it out but he

Whimpers when he doesn’t get his way.

I had a professor once who told me that back in the fifties he was recruited to help organize dissension against the U.S government. He was young and rebellious so he joined up to fight the suppression of the federal government. In his words he said, “They pushed me to the front of the line and I got whacked by a belly club. I found out later that these guys were from the communist party of America and were supported by the mother country. He said that he never trusted community agitators again.

Now from Malkin:

Synonyms for “community organizer”

By Michelle Malkin • September 9, 2008 10:17 PM

Add NY Democrat Gov. David Paterson to the list of those who don’t get why Obama’s “community organizer” days deserve ricidule, scorn, suspicion, and derision.

Paterson echoed the Obama cult’s complaint that Republicans equate “community organizer” with “black:”

On Monday, Gov. David Paterson angered some state lawmakers by comparing them to vampires, calling them a bunch of “blood suckers.” On Tuesday, he raised eyebrows again, and tempers, by accusing the John McCain campaign of veiled racism.

At the Crain’s Business Forum this morning, Paterson drew attention to a phrase used numerous times by speakers at the Republican National Convention to describe Barack Obama’s leadership experience: community organizer.

“I think the Republican Party is too smart to call Barack Obama ‘black’ in a sense that it would be a negative. But you can take something about his life, which I noticed they did at the Republican Convention – a ‘community organizer.’ They kept saying it, they kept laughing,” he said.

Let me help.

Synonyms for Obama-esque “community organizer:”

Thug.

Shakedown artist.

Ineffectual rabble-rouser.

Left-wing fraudsters.

They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and illegal and criminal records.

It ain’t about the black or white. It’s all about the green.

Obama on McCain/Palin: “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig”; Update: Video added

Perfectly innocent, I’m sure, just like Michelle’s bon mot last week about the importance of choosing a running mate who’s smart was perfectly innocent. Even though in that case, as in this one, reporters on the scene were so struck by the audience’s laughter they went out of their way to mention it.

Just your right-wing media exaggerating things as usual.

“That’s not change,” Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering.

“You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” Obama said, “but it’s still a pig.”

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.”

That’s Jake Tapper and a co-author, themselves “no doubt thinking” that Obama was kinda sorta calling Palin a pig. Otherwise they wouldn’t have wasted a post on what was otherwise a throwaway line at a random town hall.

And they’re not the only ones who took it that way.

Exit question: I defended him when he took heat from women for the “likeable enough” comment and his Annie Oakley goof on Hillary, but then came “sweetie” and now this. How come The One keeps running into these funny little misunderstandings with comments aimed at women politicians? (more on Obama)

Malkin Has the best call on this one “Barry”

You botched the joke, Barry O

By Michelle Malkin • September 9, 2008 08:20 PM

Lipstick on a pit bull, genius.

Pit bull.

Not “pig.”

Now, can you imagine if McCain had joked like this about Michelle O?

Another account of the event,

From Politico

Obama: ‘Lipstick on a pig’

Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin’s new “change” mantra.

“You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said as the crowd cheered. “It’s still a pig.”

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

The crowd apparently took the “lipstick” line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: “lipstick.” (politico)

From The New York Times:

September 9, 2008, 7:45 pm <!– — Updated: 8:01 pm –>

Shades of Lipstick Tint a Race

LEBANON, Va. – It’s been quite a week for lipstick.

Last week, Gov. Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate, introduced herself to the Republican National Convention by asking a question: What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom, which is how she typically describes herself.

Lipstick,” she said, in the line of the night.

Here in Lebanon today, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois also made his own lipstick allusion, drawing on a very old aphorism as he belittled attempts by Senator John McCain and Republicans to embrace the change mantle that has been central to his campaign.

“John McCain says he’s about change, too – except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics,” Mr. Obama said. “That’s not change. That’s just calling the same thing something different. You can put lipstick on a pig – it’s still a pig.”

At that point, Mr. Obama paused for just a moment, no doubt imagining the whoops that were going up at the McCain headquarters where they were no doubt monitoring the speech, and aware of the extent to which both campaigns are seeking to seize on anything even approaching a slip of the tongue.

So he added: “You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still going to stink after eight years. We’ve had enough of the same old thing.” (more malkin)

So what do the Dems have left?

Dig for dirt and remove Obama’s obstacles,

Just like they did for him in Illinois.

From Malkin:

Democrats drill…for dirt

By Michelle Malkin • September 9, 2008 04:29 PM

They refuse to drill for oil, but the Democrats have sent legions of diggers to Alaska.

To search for dirt on Sarah Palin.

Democrat priorities at work.

  1. What a jerk!!! I suggest ALL WOMEN SEND OBAMA OUR LIPSTICK!!!!

Send him a message that we are voting for Palin. What a sexist PIG!!!

He is going to lose big among women!

  2. Megan,

You have hit the nail on the head.

He and his mesmerized followers think it is cute and funny to make fun of Palin.

He doesn’t know what will hit him now. He has raised the wrath of the Women voters.

    Watch out no ObombO.

    You are bombing out!!!

    Thanks Megan for you comment,
Please feel free to continue to share your thoughts.

This Obama smear has really hit the fan.

I would love to know what all of you women think about his audacity of Lipstick hate speech.

    Lots of room to comment,

    Go for it!!

  6. If you put lipstick on a pig it is still a pig- You can call yourself a Christian but you are still a Muslim.
    You said it today!

  7. Either it was just a stupid thing to say, in which case – do we need two men in office who constantly say something stupid? They’ll be dealing with foreign policy, after all. The foreign press might not be so quick to leap to their defense if they screw up there.

Or it was a deliberate insult, which is what I think it was, because anyone who hasn’t been living in a cave knows that the ‘lipstick’ line is directly associated with Palin.

  10. Elaine,

Thank you so much for your comments,

And thank you for the Kos link. Obama is no dummy. He knows where his bread is buttered. He has to play to his base. Just like McCain played to his base by choosing Sarah Palin. It’s all about politics and getting elected. Obama feels that he has to come across cute and witty to impress his activist supporters.

This one is a no brainer.

    Lottie,

You are really angry about something. You seem to feel that it is your right to “insist” on your opinion being understood here.

Believe me we get your opinion.

I think I have been as fair as I can be. But the “intellectual” dishonesty you are presenting is getting old. At the same time you are dominating my blog.

You may want to take a break for a while.

But this time you have lost credibility with this one. If you really want fairness then where is your intense defense of Palin or McCain.

No need to answer. This one is indefensible. Obama is not the stupidest politician ever. He is a smart guy. If you think he wasn’t using this statement to rile up his minions then you are naive. His numbers are down, his donations are down, he needs to get his crowd stirred up. That is how politics works. Obama is a Chicago strong arm politicians. He took down his Illinois opponents with scandal. He knows that his statement would be taken as it was.
Unless you think he is just plan stupid.

Sorry we couldn’t have a subject that would better suit your beliefs.

Frankly I am just getting a little bored and tired of your one-sidedness.

So, just take a little break please.

    God Bless,

  12. I don’t wear lipstick. But I sure got the undertone of oblowmes “joke” and who it was directed at. This man can not get any more sleazy. Some here say McCain said the same about Hillary’s health care plan. Well that was just a plan, a written idea! This was personal and to add insult to injury he (in my opinion) looked smug and thought it was cute. Women still have not learned to nurture one another (I’m quilty at times too) so I don’t know how hard this will be taken by female voters but so far it looks like a lot of people saw this the same way and are swinging to the McCain/Palin ticket. And now Biden is opening up his stupid mouth with more insults about how SHP doesn’t really care for her own baby or she would be for stem cell research! It is well documented that this would not benefit downs children as they have an extra chromosone. I hope they keep attacking SHP, it is showing their true colors. I have been a life long democrat and I am so ashamed of my party at this moment in time. I cannot wait for the debates, I believe SHP will blow them away.

  13. Thank you Marion for your comment.

The “Joke” would be no big deal to me if it wern’t for the fact that Obama has presented himself as “above this sort of thing”.

He has presented himself as the candidate of change and the candidate of the people. He has presented himself as the “One” who will be able to talk to the world and make them all drink a Coke in perfect harmony.

Obama is not who her portends to be.

Hey, What a great Idea for a post!

    thanks again Marion,

  15. Thanks for your comment Anthony,

Unfortunately I allowed Lottie a little too much rope. Now she is calling me an Obama Hater on her blog. The only thing they have left is insults and untruths.

It just seems that reason has gone out the window with the Dems.

Michael Moore, George Soros, David Axlerod, Bill Ayers, and Obama are symbolic of the true haters in this country; the problem is they Hate America.

It is sad to me that so many Americans have drowned in the Kool Aid.

    Thanks again,
    riggword

  16. Personally I don’t visit her sight; just once.

My guess is she was hoping to pull in some readers by venting on my blog.

I suppose it is all far in blogs and politics.

    Thanks for your comment Timotheus,
