Sarah Palin is now a household name; she is the new issue:
Forget about Iraq, Forget About the economy, Forget about Oil. It’s about Sarah Palin this week. If there was little interest in the Republican Convention before last Friday, it is now the center of the Universe for the American TV watcher. If we thought the Olympics were big then stand back and watch the ratings for Sarah’s big night. Along with your average Republican political junkie we will see the massive tunning in of the far left to snear, the tabloid viewer, and the new crop of adoring fans who will embrace Sarah Palin and her family.
This Republican Convention will devour any residual effects of the Obama Extravaganza:
Obama all of a sudden isn’t the “Top” news story of the day. Gustav is running a close second, but Sarah Palin is now the front runner on web traffic. She will shine in Saint Paul. The gossip is negative, the Kos Crazies are rabid, my negative comments are bulging, and the Republicans will be the big winners because of the backlash against these nasty, vicious bloggers and news media.
Sarah Palin will shine as the classy Christian Republican Woman that she is!
Americans, especially woman and younger voters
will identify with Governor Palin
and some will cross over to vote Rebublican.
Will Palin get helped by the opposition attacks?

Sarah Palin has had a wild ride since becoming John McCain’s running mate. Having governed in Alaska, the Palins haven’t experienced the national spotlight, and the opposition attacks must seem daunting — and in some cases, insane. But rather than making Americans uncomfortable with Sarah Palin, Charles Mahtesian at Politico believes it might allow Americans to identify more closely with Palin than any of the other candidates:
Fishing permit violations. A blue-collar husband who racked up a DUI citation as a 22-year-old. An unmarried teenage daughter who is pregnant and a nasty child custody battle involving a family member.
All of this, to one degree or another, has surfaced in recent days as a result of efforts to discredit or undermine Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But these revelations may have the opposite effect: In one sense, they could reinforce how remarkably unremarkable she is.
So far — and it is hard to tell what the future may hold for Palin’s unexpected national candidacy — the travails of the Palin family probably seem awfully familiar to many average Americans. It is this averageness that makes her such a politically promising running mate for John McCain — and such a dangerous opponent for Democrats. Many voters will find it easy to identify with her family’s struggles — a significant advantage in an election where the voting calculus is so unusually and intensely personal. (More Hot Air)

Tuesday, September 02, 2008Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 10:51 AM The Los Angeles Times’ Andrew Malcolm –demonstrating daily that old media can excel at new media– offers a fascinating glimpse at how Team McCain handled the potential negatives in Governor Palin’s past.
The outpouring of supportive, favorable and emotional e-mails continues and I will again limit today’s callers to women who are moved by Governor Palin’s nomination. This is an unprecedented reaction, and MSM’s ideological blinkers are blinding them to the powerful effect of Governor Palin’s life story and her appearance Friday, an effect that has been increased by the weekend smearing by Obamians with blogs and their Beltway-Manhattan media elite allies.

Loray Bush and cindy McCain Paved the way for Sarah to Shine in Minnisota
Laura Bus, Cindy McCain lead Republican Gustav appeal
First Lady Laura Bush and John McCain’s wife Cindy on Monday led a fundraising drive for Hurricane Gustav victims on day one of the curtailed Republican convention.”Our first priority for today and in the coming days is to ensure the safety and well-being of those living in the Gulf Coast Region,” said Bush, who drew a long standing ovation as she walked onto the stage.
“To all of those living in the Gulf states, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you,” she said as Hurricane Gustav lashed New Orleans.
“When such events occur, we are reminded that first, we are all Americans — and that our shared American ideals will always transcend political parties and partisanship.”
Republican presumptive nominee John McCain ordered the suspension of most of the political activities on the convention’s opening day as a mark of respect to Gulf Coast communities feeling Gustav’s wrath.
His wife, who stood side-by-side on stage with Bush, who she hopes to succeed as first lady, called on delegates to help hurricane victims.
“I would ask that each one of us commit to join together to aid those in need as quickly as possible,” she said.
“As John has been saying for the last several days, this is a time when we take off our Republican hats and put on our American hats.”
Republicans are taking extreme care to show sympathy to Hurricane Gustav victims after President George W. Bush’s presidency and the party as a whole saw their political fortunes hammered by the Hurricane Katrina debacle.
As well as a fundraising drive, the Republican delegates are also putting together 80,000 comfort packages of supplies for hurricane victims at the conference venue in the midwest state of Minnesota.

And of Course the mild mannered Democrats Have there own way of
responding to decent American Rebublicans trying to do their job.
Their actions will further give eveadance that the
Rebublicans are the Grownups in this election:
RNC protest update: Spitting, rock-throwing, poison-spraying, and Cub Scout-harassing
It’s starting to get a little ugly in the Twin Cities. We’ve got reports of buses vandalized and targeted with flying sandbags; delegates spat on and abused by rock-throwers; and Cubs Scouts harassed.
But first, a reminder of my warning last week about the rabble-rousers now causing trouble at the RNC. Here’s what I wrote:
We’ve been having fun mocking the motley assortment of clowns and cads here in Denver for the week, but I’ll add this caveat: Law enforcement in the Twin Cities should remain on guard. A lot of these malefactors are headed down there to join Leftists who have caused serious trouble there. Don’t forget the havoc they have wrought attacking ROTC offices on campuses and recruitment centers across the country. As I got to see up close the other day, many of these grievance-mongers are swelling with unhinged anger. The lesson of the Seattle WTO riots was “Be prepared.” Still operative. (More Malkin)

Sarah Palin will do more than shine
The Dems are scared out of their wits, which is why they’re presenting her as OBAMA’S OPPONENT RATHER THAN JOE BIDEN’S
The facts are that Gov. Palin has had more executive experience than Obama, killed the “Bridge to Nowhere” folly, which you have to admit is one of the biggest spending debacles her party has ever tried to pull, and has shown her own Maverick status by example of her governing.
Her first veto was to veto legislation that would prevent equal rights for same sex couples, she balanced (successfully) a half trillion dollar budget, and taxed the big oil companies.
Finally, someone with their own mind and the good of the people in her sights.
Most importantly, HER COLLAR IS MUCH BLUER THAN JOE BIDEN’S, whose only job has been on Capitol Hill for the past 35 years.
I’m still waiting for an answer from the Obama people as to how Joe Bourbon Biden represents “new politics and a change from Washington insiders

Excellent Points Anthony,
This is going to be an exciting week.
The moral substantive Americans will also shine and the Dems will only be able to try and hide their true liberal empty transparent colors.
They can only pull their heads back into their shell so far…but their little noses will stick out far enough to punch.
Thanks for the comment,

Sarah Palin has energized the Republican Party, particularly its conservative base. The money is rolling in and people are waking up from their apathetic slumber. Anthony is correct to point out that the Democrats are scared.
I do not agree with the equal rights for same sex couples, but candidates will never be perfect.
Watch out for the media to transform into sexist mode.

Thank you for your comments peak9,
Watching this unfold breaks my heart for the young people who should not be in this mix,
But I am energized for the election. I finally feel like I have something to vote for instead of someone, Obama, to vote against.
Go get em’ Sarah!
God Bless,
