The Meme Thing:

It seems to be against my better judgement:

But I have decided to play along. I think it is time for me to play a little. I am in the counseling field and I usually end up somewhere along the line telling my clients to play more.

So now I am taking my own pill.

The game is meme? I am not even sure what that name is all about, but I am going to be a good sport and play with the other blogerists. We all need to play more as we have been so involved in this political race thing. Obama, Hillary, and McCain…..arg! I think God has combined the three candidates we have to teach us all a lesson on who our real true leader is, Jesus. Thank you Lord for the painful reminder.

Back to the Game, Here are the instructions….I think:

First, I was tagged by Selena who was tagged by somebody named Ric Booth. So I went to ric’s blog and copied these instructions,

ric booth’s blog here,

He wrote these instructions, Check out his blog for further details. Ok so I am joining in on this meme thing,

Here is what I know so far from ric booth,

On Monday I was TAGGED by lovewillbringustogether (a.ka. love).

The four requirements for this meme are:

  1. Write the title to your memoir using 6 words
Life was So Simple Before I Died
Actually, I wrote this title long ago.
  2. Post it on your blog
check. Actually, I posted this long ago too.
  3. Link to the person that tagged you
    check.
  4. Tag five more blogs
    hmm… 75% is a C in my book.
    Ok…
    inProgress
    Samwrites2
    themostexcellentway
    Skunnydroppings
    SharpIron

Also, the title above does indeed contain 6 words. It also contains 5 words. Technically speaking. However, if you are confused, remember I doesn’t count. It may also be helpful to remember i do know how to write.

Here is Selen’s version of the game,

The four requirements for this meme are:

1. Write the title to your memoir using 6 words
2. Post it on your blog.
3. Link to the person that tagged you.
4. Tag five more blogs

Here is mine: Desires my Creator despite my flaws.
This is my life story. I truly love God despite myself.

Blogs I am tagging:
Mike, our crazy & fun pastor
NectarFizz, my silly blogger friend.
Peak9, loyal blog commentor & snowboarder dude.
Rigg, long winded blogger, that needs an idiot page.

I added Selen’s version to my post to prove a piont. the point is that I can be lonnnnng winded.

That is probably why you haven’t seen my meme yet, and I haven’t sent out any tags…yet. Because I still feel a need to be really clear on my memoir and who I tag.

As I always need clarification I had to find out what a meme is so

Meme from Encyclopedia Dramatica,

The meme is the final stage in the life of a butterfly

The meme is the final stage in the life of a butterfly

The word meme (Pronounced: meme) is a term coined by Richard Dawkins in his book The Selfish Gene. Originally used to describe packets of cultural information, it was adopted by the internet to describe viral lulz or frunz. Its original meaning is no longer used except by sociology majors.

Meme is commonly used by people who aren’t retarded because it is in fact shorter to write the word “meme” than to write out “internet phenomena” or “something that will wind up on G4 tomorrow for all of the nerds to fap all over”. It is well known that the only people that care about internet memes are sad fucks with no life.

Sometimes bloggers refer to memes as a word game or short quiz taken and posted as comment bait. The more comments a user receives about their results the higher the chances are of that thing spreading. Then most often Memes are taken by fucking Idiots and totally fucked up and or overused which eventually leads to the death of a meme, but here is a example of the lifespan of a meme.

So let’s look at the word Memoir from Webster,

1: an official note or report : memorandum2 a: a narrative composed from personal experience b: autobiography —usually used in plural c: biography3 a: an account of something noteworthy : report bplural : the record of the proceedings of a learned society
mem·oir·ist Listen to the pronunciation of memoirist \-ist\ noun
As for my memior in six words not counting “I”.
For now “I” am still working on “it”
And about that long winded thing, Selena. I don’t know what you are talking about.
God Bless

Rigg,

Ok. I think I understand what Selena was ‘eluding to’ when she mentioned your ‘tendency’ to ahh… expound on. and on. Anyways funny. Thanks for finding that Dawkins reference. I simply concluded that meme meant ME!! ME!! LOOK AT ME!!!! Such a construct works well within blogosphere since it is itself a macro meme.

You are funny. I may not always have the time to read to your punch lines but I love your wit!

Thanks for playing along Rigg.

ric,
thanks for your comment.

Yes, sometimes the wit is so far away from the wisdom that we can’t find it.

But someone once said the “Brevity is the soul of wit” (Shakespeare I believe, in Hamlet). More on that theme later.

I will continue to pursue the meme thing.

Right now I am paring down 6,000 words to 6.

Could take a while.
God Bless

The “snowboarder dude” is thinking about his title.

HAHAHA!!! this must be a favorite tag around blogland right now. this is my 4th hit this week with the same one.

hmmm….so….i’m gonna play along here.

my original memoir read…

Rigg, you’re a good sport!
Richard Dawkin’s, what a man. What a foolish man. He hates God too much to not believe He is real. I have read the God Delusion and the Dawkin’s Delusion by McGrath.

Thank you all for the helpful comments.

To meme or not to meme,

That’s a question?

peak9,
get a life! or a memoir.

Selena,
I will try and hold up to your expectations.

Tam,
Hello, who are you?

ric,
well I am trying to keep it short and punch line full.

aireen,

God Bless

Rigg,
You posted/linked Tam’s blog, you tagged her in a sense.
*Waves to tam*

Peak9 “The “snowboarder dude” is thinking about his title.”

Make it snappy Mr.! :-D

well im fine Rigg. thanks!

hey selena girl!!!

Hey Rigg,

{tongue in cheek}

I think your memoir should be some inverse variation of “Brevity is the soul of wit” (look 6 words :D )

Maybe “Rigg, Expounding on Brevity Since 19__” Probably should be the year you put together your fist sentence… or paragraph.

or, “Less is more?!! MORE is More!”

or hey, “The Memoirs of the great orator…”

Just a few ideas for your brain to feed on. And actually, 6 is more of a guideline really. Plus, if you think about it the “Less is more” one only has 3 words in it “less”, “is”, and “more.” You could lengthen that considerable.

Thanks ric,

Now we’re getting somewhere.

There are a couple of Bible verse I like on this subject.

Let’s see if it is six words….or less?

“Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace.” Proverbs 17:28 (11)

“…He who restrains his lips is wise”
Proverbs 10:19 (6)

I’ll have to think a little more.

God Bless

Mine wasn’t the correct amount of wordage either..but I think it was the right one for me. :)

My memoir title is in the hizouse.

Thanks for all of your comments.

I am ready to submit.

I feel a need to come clean and present
my memoir……

I have a couple duking it out in my feeble brain.

Is four words ok? Five?…how bout seven?

Would someone with authority please respond.

Thank you.
