Christians for Clinton?

Clinton Says She Will Defend Gay Rights

Associated Press Writer

“Clinton said states such as New Jersey and Massachusetts are extending rights to gay couples “and the federal government should recognize that and should extend the same access to federal benefits across the board. I will very much work to achieve that.”…

Clinton said she and her husband have many gay friends that they socialize with when they get the chance. “I’ve got friends, literally, around the country that I’m close to. It’s part of my life,” she said.

She said that when they ask her why they can’t get married, she tells them marriage is a state law. She said that fact helped defeat a constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex weddings that she said would “enshrine discrimination in the Constitution.”

“States are really beginning seriously to deal with the whole range of options, including marriage, both under their own state constitutions and under the legislative approach,” she said. “I anticipate that there will be a very concerted amount of effort in the next couple of years that will move this important issue forward and different states will take different approaches as they did with marriage over many years and you will see an evolution over time.”

Clinton said she opposes a measure that would ban gay marriage in Pennsylvania.

“I would be very distressed if Pennsylvania were to adopt that kind of mean-spirited referendum and I hope it won’t happen,” she said.”

Maybe I should comment, Maybe not.

Should this statement concern Christians?

What do you think?

I do not think Christians should support gay marriage, but Christians should also keep in mind that America has passed the line of no return on this issue. Gay marriage will be legalized at some point. Homosexuality is being normalized in our culture, and young Americans in particular see no problem with it.

There was a time when premarital sex was considered taboo and immoral. Now, if kids are not having sex before high school, they are considered freaks. Premarital sex is fully normalized. Homosexuality will be fully normalized. At the human level, there is no stopping it, but we know that God can put an end to it and He will put an end to it with the return of Jesus Christ.

I do not think Christians should support politicians who support gay marriage. If this means Christians have fewer and fewer politicians to vote for, so be it. Marriage is not a human right, it is a God-given institution.

Those of us who support Hillary get such a kick out of you Rush Limbaugh Christians. Thanks for helping us get Hillary elected.

peak9,

I work every day with at-risk youth, cutters, chemically dependent, runaways, and sex addicts.

Eventually They all let me know that they are longing for parents who actually parent them. They are crying out for the adults to have morals, integrity, core beliefs, and family values and stick to them.

These kids are hurting because their families don’t exist. Their parents don’t stay together. Their parents are running around acting like kids. Their parents are drinking, using drugs, sleeping around, and shirking the responsibilities of parenthood.

The sacredness of marriage is fading fast in America.

Thank you for you comments,

Jack,Thank you for your comment:

Having a relationship with Christ is much different than most non-believers can fathom. Equating Limbaugh with Christ tells me that you have little understanding of a Christian’s personal relationship with Christ.

I understand your statement from your point of view. At first I thought to make light of it, but the Bible is clear that to argue with a non-believer is not prudent.

“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him” (Proverbs 26: 4).

Instead I choose to pray for you and ask for peace in your heart.

It is more important that others find the Lord then find a candidate.

God Bless

What is “gay rights” all about? Simply put it is certain people wanting to do things “their way”, or no way.
The pedophiles are waiting in the wings, because they know if things the Bible says are wrong, are legalized, then as sure as day follows night, they will get what they want to do legalized.
The homosexuals and the pedophiles are on the SAME bus going to the SAME place.

Charles,

Thank you for your comment, a bit edgy, but I believe your words spark debate, which is always good.

God Bless

I agree with Hilary on this, and thats pretty rare really. I for one don’t want to be associated with a Christianity that enshrines discrimination in the constitution. I don’t believe the church can or should support homosexuality, but it is not the church’s job to enforce what we like to call “love” at gun point, which is exactly what creating laws to that effect does.

The church needs to work to change hearts and minds of people, which rarely happens when we’re throwing them in jail for not following our beliefs.

Anyway, thats my $0.02.
