Obama Praised by Farrakhan

Oh Happy Day!

Now American can sleep peacefully, The world can rejoice, life is good again, we are free!. Louis Farrakhan has spoken, there can be no doubt, Obama is the man, shout it out!. Yes, our Savior has arrived. Farrakhan has made it clear for me now, the only possible Saviour for our rotten country is Obama. It has finally come to this:

CHICAGO (AP) - In his first major public address since a cancer crisis, Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said Sunday that presidential candidate Barack Obama is the “hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better.

The 74-year-old Farrakhan, addressing an estimated crowd of 20,000 people at the annual Saviours’ Day celebration, never outrightly endorsed Obama but spent most of the nearly two-hour speech praising the Illinois senator.

“This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better,” he said. “This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama’s audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed.”

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion’s founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had a white mother and black father.

“A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,” he told the crowd of mostly followers. “A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.” (retrieved from Breitbart.com on 2/24/0 8)

Louis Farrakhan:

There is so much written about this guy and his radical beliefs that I need say little. You can read about his anti-semitic, anti-American, Racisit beliefs and here , loathing for the American way, and his Nation of Islam here and here. And let’s never for get the Tawana Brawley case and here, and here. I need not say much about him. But I will say, “With friends like him, who needs ……………..”

No Not one:

“There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands…..” (Romans 3: 10 & 11). It is getting harder and harder for me to believe that Christians, including all denominations can see Obama as “The hope of the Entire World” (Farrakhan, 2008).

We have one hope for the World that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1: 27, NKJV).

Beware least anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit:

“…that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and the Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and steadfastness of your fath in Christ” (Colossians 2: 1-3, NKJV).
Be not deceived Americans.

I don’t know what to do now.
It seemed so clear before. Is Obama the one for our country?

Farrakhan? What next? The UnaBoomber?

Yiecks!

I can hardly stomach any of this nonsense anymore—Obama the “hope of the entire world?” I am not an expert on end times prophecy, but something is going on here. I don’t understand how any Christian can support this guy. He is being called a messiah. Will he be called a prophet next?

Great post Rigg. I like the ending: Trust in the “wisdom and knowledge” of “the Father and the Christ” so you are not “deceived” by “persuasive words.”

Everyone needs to get this news out into the open. I think the people are being manipulated and brainwashed and it’s SCARY how few realize it.

This is very scary.

I just spent time looking up Louis Farrakhan quotes about Jews, and White people….and I am horrified.

Obama and Oprah’s Church, Trinty, gave this man the lifetime achievement award even though he is unbelievably racist and anti-American.

I canNOT believe that white people and jews are voting for this man.

They must not be aware, otherwise, I assure you they would not vote a man in who hates America and the majority of people who live in it.

Thank you for your comment,

I agree with most of what you have said Katherine.
I’d like to add that it doesn’t matter what color a voter is they should not want to tolerate Farrakhan’s racist rhetoric.

I have plenty of African-American friends who do not like Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam hate speak.

I hope voters are able to discern the link between Farrakhan and Obama.

I encourage you to keep adding to
the thoughts on this blog.

People need to wake up and realize that black people have suffered years of slavery and racism in America. Therefore when a Black man speaks out angrily against racism and injustice…people have to take these comments seriously as not attacks against white people and or jews but infact these words of Mr Farrakann are infact the truth of how blacks feel abused and subjugated over the years in America……

Expressing the reality of the injustice of slavery and prejudice does not mean that we hate all white people…what we really want now is for everyone to recognize the fact that we did suffer injustice at the hands of white people in Europe and America just like how everyone recognizes that the Jews suffered.

And for all the Christians out there who think that its wrong to call Obama the hope of the entire world you guys need to wake up to reality and accept the fact the Jesus Christ is alive and he continues to work with living people such as Obama….

the idea that only Jesus alone is the only saviour is disrespect to Jesus himself Jesus is the Leader of Salvation Movement and in this way Jesus is the only light of the world as the leader of all the sons of salvation Jesus is Saviou and therefore is most devoted follower are also cabale of saving people and saving the world. In other words a good follower of Jesus should infact be able to the hope of the entire world.

All who follow Jesus also becomes the light of the world and can offer real hope and real solutions its only the devil that wants people to sit around and wait forever instead of actually doing good things to make the world better…..

Jesus Loves Obama and thats why Obama is in fact walking with the true spirit of salvation in other words Jesus is working in Obama and Jesus is accomplishing many great Things Through his servant Obama.

I’ve never truly worried about the color of someone’s skin color or that it’s a woman or a man that is running for President BUT I just can NOT get excited over muslim’s running our country. Not today, not tomorrow not ever.Feels good to know that I’m not the only one.

Thanks for your comments Marcus.

I think the cycle has to end. We need to stop
punishing people for wrongs of the past.
It is not good for anybody in America to
lose more freedoms and build up more prejudices
to “Get Back at” the ancestors of the wrong doers.

We need to move forward and live in the best
country that has ever existed on the planet with gratitude and reverence.

darciemay, thank you for your comments as well.
Like you I would in a heart beat vote for a woman or a person of any race if his or her message was for freedom, protecting the constitution, encouraging entrepreneurism, and keeping the military strong.

Condoleezza Rice would get my vote anytime. I don’t hear her speaking about “Getting Even” with
anybody.

Hang in there RIGG, you are figuring it out all by yourself as I had to do. It should not be an issue of the gender or the color BUT keeping the USA that we love SAFE. The issue of GETTING EVEN some how seems so child like dosen’t it? The very basic for me is WHO can keep our country the SAFEST in the next 4 years,8 years,12 years etc.

Just because Farrakhan endorsed Obama doesn’t mean that Obama endorses Farrakhan’s beliefs. In fact, Obama has been quick to distance himself from Farrakhan. Yes, Farrakhan has said some crazy things in the past, but that doesn’t mean that they define the entirety of the Obama camp.

And even if Obama’s theological positions were perfect, that’s not necessarily a reason to support him. I am certainly glad that Obama is a Christian, as I am a Christian, but I would have no problem electing a Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, or atheist as president. What matters is their message, beliefs, and ability to work with other people. This last thing, especially, Obama has in great quantity.

Just wondering if ANY ONE has been watching Hannity’s America tonight on FXNWS.Jim, I totally don’t want to get in a blog fight with you or anyone for that matter SO if what you say is true, how do you know for sure that Obama is a christian?

I think the real question is more along the lines of, does it matter if Obama is a chrisitan?

Sorry, that was posted too hastily. (And with a typo. Don’t you hate it when you notice the typo right after posting it?)

My point was that it doesn’t matter to me whether or not Obama is a Christian for him to be my president.

Now, it does matter if he says he is a Christian but really isn’t. However, until I see concrete evidence (which does not include endorsements by members of other religions) that he isn’t, I have to trust that he is. Who am I to know who God has elected and who He has not?

With politicians it is difficult to tell what they believe and whether they even believe at all. After all, thinkers such as Aristotle and Machiavelli have made it clear how a ruler must have the appearance of piety.

All the Presidential candidates profess faith. But, do they do so because they have faith or because they believe that is what the many wish to hear?

OKAY,this is where it gets sticky.A person can actually go to church 3 times a week,be involved in all the church activities BUT we still may not know where their heart is BECAUSE that is only a TRUTH between GOD and that 1 person,it is a personal relationship.MOST TIMES,you can tell when people are christians from their actions but not always, just like mlabossi’s comment. What I would say about myself is that I feel comfortable with anyone’s religion that is a fundamental christian church. With all that I have read and studied about Obama’s religion of 20 years it is not even close to the fundamental christian beliefs.Somewhere along all of our lives we have all messed up and will continue to until we die. This is called being a human being. There is no human PERFECT to run the USA so I have to go with McCain who I hope will ask GOD to help see us through the next 4 years.YES,for me personally,I want a president that I believe is a christian. IF Obama were a Lutheran,a Methodist,a Baptist,Assembly of God,etc etc etc and a GOP,he would have my vote.

Thank you all for your comments. It is a lively debate which is what makes America so great and demonstrates our Freedom to the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, I think the young voter is uninformed and desires a Utopian blissful quick answer to complex world problems. I was there in my youth. To top that off many older radicals are still dreaming of taking over this powerful nation and remaking it some sort of Nom Chomsky dream.

Jim, You are right, we cannot judge a man’s heart, only God knows. But we can examine a person’s thoughts, beliefs, theology, political leanings, radical ideas, Americanism, views on socialism, military management, international politics, world view, American Pride, beliefs about marriage and the sanctity of life.

Knowing Obama’s soul is impossible. If you are willing to know more about his ideas, core beliefs and world view try learning more about these people:

Tony Resco, Saul Alinsky, Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Dr. James Cone, and Oprah Winfred.

You can also find out more about Barack by reading his book,
“Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance”.

And you can read Dr. Cone’s book titled,
“Black Power and Black Theology” (1969)

Thank you all for your comments; keep em coming.

I am, in fact, half way through “The Audacity of Hope” and have “Black Faith and Public Talk: Critical Essays on James H. Cone’s Black Theology & Black Power,” which I read for a class, on my shelf. I would hardly presume to question Dr. Cone’s faith.

There are many people, including all of those figures you named, who have beliefs I don’t agree with. In fact, there is probably much I can learn from such people. Take liberation theology as an example: I would not go nearly as far as many of the liberation theologians such as Dr. Cone. However, their focus on the poor, the oppressed, and the downtrodden speaks volumes to a Christian faith that heeds the biblical mandate to care for such people. We would all do well to pay attention to the love and passion they feel for other people.

Second, in the case of more extreme beliefs, reading them on to a third party, in this case Obama, is a fallacy. Many people offer endorsements, and a politician will take most of them. That does not mean that said politician agrees with every action they take (c.f. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/01/obama_distances.html).

Which brings us to the politician himself/herself. We must go look at his or her policies and message and agree or disagree on that level. Disagreeing with a politician because of a policy on X or Y is a legitimate decision to make, discounting someone because of an endorsement is not.

Farrakhen’s endorsement is a little over the top for sure, but it really doesn’t make logical sense to totally discount Obama because someone you don’t agree with thinks he’s pretty nifty. Its actually a logical fallacy sometimes called “guilt by association.” I’m sure you probably have other reasons why you don’t like Obama though, since arguments like this don’t show up among the undecided.

I do have to say that I like how you’re engaging in a theological way with this political issue. The US would be much better off if we had more open theological dialog around political issues. I think its a great tragedy that there is almost no political diversity among Christians in the US.

Hi Jim,Just a question or 2. IF you were running for President, would you allow any endorsement of any kind from any group of people? Would you do favors for any group that supported you IF millions of dollars were involved? Would you accept millions from other country’s that threaten the very freedoms that we do have in the USA so you could win? How much money could buy you? Just wondering.

As politics is about choosing the best candidate available, not the one exactly like you, I think candidates can take many endorsements. Obviously, if the endorser has done something morally repugnant, that would be a cause for not accepting the endorsement. However, simply not agreeing with their theology or views on a political issue would not be. Politics should be about about building a coalition of diverse people, not dividing people into small homogenous groups.

When it comes to campaign contributions, it’s not all black and white. In fact, Obama has some remarkable insites into this in Chapter 4 of “The Audacity of Hope” (esp. p. 118-119).

As far as other countries, I’m not sure what you’re referring to, so I don’t know how to answer that.

In other news, I could be bought for $900,545. (Go find out how much you could be bought for: http://www.blogthings.com/atwhatpricewouldyouselloutquiz/)

The problem with Obama for this Christian is his policies don’t mesh with his faith. When he professes his faith in Jesus Christ in speeches and interviews, and yet calls himself pro-choice while taking support from Planned Parenthood, one of the most anti-Christian organizations in America, it makes his faith look disingenuous.

It is not my place to question whether or not Obama is a Christian, so I will take his world on it. Marcus’ gripe about Christians is misguided because Obama is not making speeches about how Jesus has called on him to bring about change. If he did this, Hillary Clinton would have already wrapped this thing up. He would have alienated the growing moveon.org crowd. Jesus is the only savior for humanity. Obama will never be a savior nor a messiah.

All this Obama craziness is unnerving to me. Too many Americans are supporting him based on emotion and not the facts. Obama seems to be immune from criticisim, and this fact makes him dangerous. Even if something came out into the open, for instance, that he really is a Muslim and contributes money to C.A.I.R. and other Islamic, anti-American organizations, it would not matter to the majority of his supporters. This kind of information would be labeled as a smear attempt. He can do nothing wrong.

I am not a supporter of Hillary Clinton, but she has a legitimate gripe about the media’s bias in favor of Obama. It would be interesting to correlate the rise in Obama’s poll numbers with the point at which the media turned on Clinton.

[...] have been debating Obama’s style of Christianity. Many have left comments on my post, “Obama Praised by Farrakhan“. Some think he does not espouse traditional Christian theology like peak9 who commented on [...]

I would urge anyone to look at Obama’s church of the last 20 years. IT is called Trinity united church of christ. Please do not think it has anything to do with the churches that are called Church of Christ.Church of Christ has always been a Fundamental christian church.TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IS NOT.PLEASE look it up on the internet. What I have read had this to say TRINITY UNITED believes in the NEW TESTAMENT ONLY and discounts anything that was written in the OLD TESTAMENT. Either you agree with the BIBLE or YOU DO NOT believe in the BIBLE.You can not cut out parts of the BIBLE and add ons don’t work either.THIS is just 1 major problem that I have with TRINITY UNITED churches and THINKERS.AND I don’t believe for a minute that there are millions of people out there that are fundamental christians so that does make us into a larger group of people.WE just don’t get a chance to say we are christians because society (young people especially) wants to cram that down our throats AS IF we are murderer’s.IF anyone in the USA are being biased against ,it is aganist Christians that are men, women, children, blacks,Latino’s,whites and any other group that only wants to believe in THE HOLY BIBLE. AGAIN,I don’t know how GOD will play this out and I will live with HIS decision.IF Obama does win, then I know it will be another time for me to get out the BIBLE and read REVELATIONS.I’m sure all the christian people out there will know what I mean. A hint,it started with Abraham’s 2 sons in the bible.

Thank you all for your well thought out comments.
You might want to jump over to my newest post at:
http://riggword.wordpress.com/ and keep the thread going.

Darciemay, you write with a lot of passion; you should start a blog. Remember there are many denominations and interpretations of Christianity. Your reference to reading Revelations will ring clear to some and mean little to others. Not every fundamental Christian is a pre-tribulation dispensationalist.

Thank you all for your comments.

Rigg,There would be many times when I would not have a chance of keeping up my own Blog, which is why I haven’t.AS it is, I only get 3-4 hours a night sleep if I’m lucky.I’ve been exposed to alot of different fundamental churches and although EACH has a small degree of difference, but we still agree on the fact that we all still have and worship the 1 and only GOD. When it comes down to reading Revelations MOST christians would agree that GOD is telling us what we may or may not have to endure before the ugliness is destroyed.I do have a lot of passion because I know what GOD has done for me even when I was a stupid child doing very stupid things. He has always picked me back up and asking me to follow him. I have walked away from GOD many times but he has always taken me back,so this is SO NOT about me it is only about GOD and what he could do with anyone that trusts in him.

I had to reread this post,

I had forgotten about the Farrakhan endorsement.

McCain needs to remind Americans about this endorsement as we get to November.

I know he wont, but somebody needs to.

Does it matter that MC Cain is a christian or not ? Does being a christian justify annhiliation of another religious group……..look at ur selves first and ask if it is enuff to be a christian or just a practising one.
